Public Health & Cleanliness Committee

1.1  The Committee is been presided by a member of the Administrative Committee and its members are three more members of the Municipal Council.

1.2  The Committee addresses, among others, matters and problems that concern:

1.2.1 The collection and disposal of the domestic and industrial rubbish, as well as useless massive objects.
1.2.2 The cleanliness of streets, pavements, squares and other public spaces.
1.2.3

The cleanliness of building plots and other private open spaces.

1.2.4  The collection and removal of abandoned vehicles or objects.
1.2.5 The regulation of dogs and other animals or birds.
1.2.6  The extinguishment of insects and rodents which are hazardous to public health.
1.2.7 The regulation of waste disposal or other feculent liquid offal.
1.2.8 The regulation of estates of sanitary concern (bakeries, confectionaries, recreation centres, coffee shops, schools etc), as well as the control of natatorial pools.
1.2.9 The regulation of potable water supplied to the citizens, in regard to its quantity and suitability.
1.2.10 The regulation of itinerant sellers of goods within the municipal boundaries.
1.2.11 The examination of public complains concerning matters of intrusive sounds, cleanliness and public health.
1.2.12 The enforcement of compulsory standards concerning foods or drinks (expiry dates, designation, ingredients etc)
1.2.13 The regulation of foods and drinks, as far as their suitability for human consumption is concerned.
1.2.14 The recycling of materials from domestic waste.
