In Latsia there are more than 200 factories, which employ more than 5.000 employees. The majority of the factories and other workshops are to be found in the Industrial Areas of the Municipality. The second Industrial Zone covers an area of 14,0 ha (1 hectare = 10.000 sq. metres or 2.47 acres), being the smallest Major Nicosia Industrial zone, while the first Industrial Zone covers an area of 162,5 ha, being the largest Major Nicosia Industrial zone. There is also a mixed Manufacturing zone, covering 2,4 ha, once more the smallest Major Nicosia Industrial zone, and a Manufacturing Zone covering an area of 14,0 ha. Altogether, 192,9 ha of the Latsia area consists of Industries and Factories, which produce the following products and provide the following services:
Oil, wine, dairy products, cattle feed and agricultural/farming products, pesticides, chemicals and pharmaceuticals, bakeries, textile and sewing, footwear and clothes, laundries and cleaners, furniture, electrical appliances and works, paper mill and typography-lithography, perfumery and cosmetics, woodcraft, metal products and engine-works, car accessories and service station, luggage and leatherwear, plastic and agricultural products, refrigerators, parquet flooring, aviculture.
