  Tour of the Municipality:
Churches

The vast majority of the population of Latsia, as well as of the rest of Cyprus, is Christian Orthodox. There is also a small number of Roman Catholics and Maronites, as well as followers of other Christian dogmas and other religions. In Latsia there are four large churches, Saint George, Saint Eleftherios, Archangel Michael (a new church is being currently built), and Saint Philip, and two chapels, Santa Photeini and Santa Marina. Next to Latsia, but within Yeri Improvement Board administrative area, lies the Saint Nikitas chapel.

The new Saint George's church was built between 1959-1962, near the ruins of two earlier churches dedicated to the Saint (the first built during the Turkish Era and the second in 1895). Its internal dimensions are 31,5 m. long, 13,8 m. wide and 14 m. high. The bell tower is 21,5 m tall. The church celebrates on the 3 rd of November.

The new Saint Eleftherios' church was built between 1990-1993, to replace the prefabricated church that operated between 1978-1993 (this church is found in the refugee graveyard, about 150 metres to the south-east of the new one).

Its internal dimensions are 32 m. long, 17,2 m. wide and 19 m. high. The bell tower is 21,5 m. tall. The church celebrates on the 15 th of November and it's one of the six (only in Nicosia) churches devoted to the Saint all over Cyprus.

The first Archangel Michael's church was prefabricated and operated since 1984. A new church was being built since 1999, which was completed in the beginning of 2004. Its internal dimensions are 26,25 m. long, 18,1 m. wide and 19 m. high. The bell tower is 25 metres tall.

Saint Philip's church was built between 1988-1993. The church does not have a seraglio, and its internal dimensions are 23 m. long, 14 m. wide and 13,5 m. high. The bell tower is 18,5 metres tall. The church celebrates on the 14 th of November and it's one of the three (only in Nicosia) churches in Cyprus devoted to the Saint.

The Santa Photeini chapel was built between 1990-1991, on top of the ruins of an older church. The chapel does not have a seraglio or a bell tower (the church bell is found half a metre above the church-top) and its internal dimensions are 9,7 m. long, 4,7 m. wide and 5,7 m. high. The chapel operates only once a year, on the 2 nd of August, Santa Photeini's feast day, and it's the only church in Nicosia devoted to the Saint.

The chapel of Santa Marina was built between 1985-1986, on top of the ruins of an older church. The chapel does not have a seraglio and its internal dimensions are 14 m. long, 10 m. wide and 9 m. high. The bell tower is 8 metres tall. The chapel operates once a year, on the 17 th of July, feast day of Santa Marina and, along with a church in Strovolos, they are the only ones devoted to the Saint in the Nicosia area.
