Latsia has more than 20 parks and over 6.000 trees planted in the past 15 years. Those parks were created by the Municipality and have been dedicated to national heroes and other important figures. Part of Latsia is included in the Athalassa National Forest Park. Latsia is a “green” Municipality and its ongoing policy is to encourage its citizens to plant as many trees as possible. Latsia Municipality also actively participates in the European programme for aluminium recycling “Life 2000”.
